Volunteer with DOGO

We are a small team. Volunteers here do work that changes what the charity is capable of, and we would rather tell you honestly where the need is than list roles that sound impressive.

Where we need help most: marketing and social media

This is the honest priority. Our constraint is not our ability to treat people. We have a verified queue of people waiting and a system that can process far more than it currently does. The constraint is that not enough people know DOGO exists, and we do not have a budget to acquire donors.

If you have a background in marketing or communications, or you are good at making video that travels, you can move our numbers more than almost any other contribution. Concretely: developing campaigns, making content for social platforms, growing our presence, and running digital campaigns.

Technology

DOGO runs on three connected platforms. Volunteers with technical skills can help with their development and maintenance, their security and usability, and with data analysis and research to improve how we deliver care. See our technology for what already exists.

Fundraising and awareness campaigns

Organising events and campaigns, running awareness pushes, and approaching potential donors and sponsors. This is the work that secures the resources to keep the stands running and to open new regions.

What we will not pretend

We do not currently run a programme that sends volunteers to Nigeria or Uganda to work at stands. The people who staff our stands are local, paid team members who know the communities, and that is the right way round.

What you get

Direct contact with a small team, real responsibility rather than a task list, and a very short line between the work you do and somebody's medical bill being paid.

How to apply

Write to info@dogoapp.org and tell us what you are good at and roughly how much time you have. A person reads these. There is no form.

Give someone a treatment

Set up a £5 monthly donation and we will show you exactly who it treated. In Nigeria, £5 covers one person's entire treatment, usually with change.

Three ways to give, all working right now:

Monthly from £5, one-off from £10. Cancel any time from the app. Questions first? Write to info@dogoapp.org.
