Programmes and services

DOGO runs four connected programmes. Each one is a distinct operation with its own staff, systems and constraints, and the model only works when all four are running.

1. Community registration stands

What it is. Our field teams set up stands in communities across Nigeria and Uganda. A stand is a table, a team and a book of six-digit numbers. Anyone can walk up, talk to the team, register, and receive a DOGO ID that entitles them to free treatment at a partner facility.

Who delivers it. Local, paid team members who know the community. We do not staff stands with visiting volunteers.

Why it matters. This is the entry point to the entire system. Many of these communities have no reliable internet and no mechanism by which somebody's medical bill could ever be covered. Some stands run on satellite connections, which is how a working stand has been set up in a matter of days without anybody travelling to the site first.

2. The treatment programme

What it is. Free primary medical care, delivered at partner clinics and hospitals to anyone presenting a DOGO ID. Consultations, diagnostic tests, medication, injections and dressings.

What it covers. Everyday illness that becomes a crisis when you cannot pay: malaria above all, then fevers, typhoid, ulcers, chest infections, pneumonia, high blood pressure, diabetes, wounds and more. Full list on what we treat.

What it does not cover. Major surgery and long-term specialist care. A single complex surgical case could consume the equivalent of hundreds of malaria treatments, and would commit us to follow-up we cannot guarantee.

Scale to date. 1,980 treatments delivered.

3. Clinic and hospital partnerships

What it is. We recruit, onboard and pay established local clinics and hospitals. They treat DOGO patients and submit itemised bills through DOGO Keeper, an app built specifically for them. We verify each bill and settle it directly with the facility.

Current network. 15 partner facilities across 2 countries. The published list is on where we work.

The control that protects everyone. Clinicians cannot create cases in Keeper. They can only treat and document cases that already exist because somebody registered at a DOGO stand. No facility can bill us for a patient we never met.

Qualified medical staff at a partner facility. We do not employ the doctors or run the buildings. What we change is who pays.

If you run a facility and want to join, see for clinics and hospitals.

4. Donor matching and impact reporting

What it is. The service our donors receive. Each verified bill is matched to a donor in order of how long the patient has waited. The donation settles that specific bill, and the donor is shown who they treated: a first name, an age, a town, something about that person's life, and an itemised breakdown of what the money bought.

How to take part. Monthly from £5 or one-off from £10, through WhatsApp, the App Store or Google Play.

Give someone a treatment

Set up a £5 monthly donation and we will show you exactly who it treated. In Nigeria, £5 covers one person's entire treatment, usually with change.
