London Business School Launchpad Accelerator, first prize

DOGO won first prize at the London Business School Launchpad Accelerator, placing ahead of 115 other startups, and received £10,000 towards expansion.

Launchpad is LBS's accelerator programme for early stage ventures. The cohort we won against was overwhelmingly commercial: the usual mix of software businesses with a route to revenue. We were pitching the payment of other people's medical bills. Winning that room mattered to us because it suggested the model stands up as a piece of design, not only as a good intention.

The prize money was applied directly to expansion, including the groundwork for operating in Uganda.

The Conduit

DOGO was featured by The Conduit, the London based impact community, in a piece titled "Dogo: People powered healthcare", subtitled "Paying forward lifesaving hospital treatments, for the price of a coffee."

Why we keep this page short

We would rather be judged on the treatments delivered and on whether our process holds up to inspection than on a wall of logos. An award is evidence that a group of people found the model convincing. It is not evidence that anybody got treated. The second thing is the one that matters.

Give someone a treatment

Set up a £5 monthly donation and we will show you exactly who it treated. In Nigeria, £5 covers one person's entire treatment, usually with change.

Three ways to give, all working right now:

Monthly from £5, one-off from £10. Cancel any time from the app. Questions first? Write to info@dogoapp.org.
