Ex-Google network runs a corporate football cup for DOGO
A corporate football tournament organised by the ex-Google network, raising funds and awareness for DOGO.
Events like this do two things for a charity our size, and the second is worth more than the first.
The obvious one is money. At roughly £3 a treatment, fundraising totals convert into people treated at a rate that surprises most people when they first hear it. A few hundred pounds is a hundred people who would otherwise have gone untreated.
The less obvious one is that a room full of people hears the explanation from somebody they already trust. Our single biggest constraint is not our capacity to deliver treatments, it is that not enough people know DOGO exists. We have no meaningful budget to acquire donors. So somebody explaining the model to their colleagues at a football tournament is, genuinely, one of the most effective things that can happen to us.
If you want to do something similar
Sports events, workplace fundraising, running a donation stand and online campaigns are all covered on our fundraising page, including the collateral and guidance we will provide. We will also send you a DOGO t-shirt.
Tell us what you are planning at info@dogoapp.org.
Give someone a treatment
Set up a £5 monthly donation and we will show you exactly who it treated. In Nigeria, £5 covers one person's entire treatment, usually with change.
Three ways to give, all working right now:
- Donate on WhatsApp. The quickest route. Message us and we will set it up inside the chat. No app to install, no forms, no password.
- Dogo Health on the App Store, or on Google Play. Set your amount once and you are matched with a new person automatically each month.
Monthly from £5, one-off from £10. Cancel any time from the app. Questions first? Write to info@dogoapp.org.
