DOGO wins first prize at the London Business School Launchpad Accelerator

First place, ahead of 115 other startups, and £10,000 towards expansion.

Launchpad is London Business School's accelerator programme for early stage ventures. The cohort was overwhelmingly commercial: the usual mix of software businesses with a clear route to revenue. We were pitching the payment of other people's medical bills.

Winning that particular room mattered to us for a reason that has nothing to do with the money. A judging panel assessing ventures primarily on whether the design holds up looked at a charity and decided it did. DOGO is not only a good intention. It is a piece of infrastructure that either works or does not, and it was assessed as working.

What we did with the prize

The £10,000 went directly to expansion, including the groundwork for operating in Uganda. See the Uganda launch.

Why we keep our awards page short

We would rather be judged on the treatments delivered and on whether our process survives inspection than on a wall of logos. An award is evidence that a group of people found the model convincing. It is not evidence that anybody got treated. The second thing is the one that matters.

More on awards and recognition.

Give someone a treatment

Set up a £5 monthly donation and we will show you exactly who it treated. In Nigeria, £5 covers one person's entire treatment, usually with change.

Three ways to give, all working right now:

Monthly from £5, one-off from £10. Cancel any time from the app. Questions first? Write to info@dogoapp.org.
