DOGO treatments cross the 1,500 mark

In 2023 DOGO passed 1,500 treatments delivered, a milestone in its mission to provide free healthcare to people who cannot afford it.
Milestones like this are easy to report badly. The number itself is not the achievement. What 1,500 represented was that the whole chain had held up, repeatedly, under real conditions: stands registering people, clinics treating them, itemised bills arriving, a human checking every record, donors being matched and told who they helped.
Any one of those steps failing quietly would have made the number meaningless. That it did not is the actual result.
Where that number is now
DOGO has since delivered 1,980 treatments. Current figures, with the caveats we think should accompany them, are on impact and results and in our latest operational update.
What a treatment actually is
One person's complete episode of care: the consultation, the tests, the medication. In Nigeria that costs about £3, with a median of £2.76. It is not a contribution towards somebody's care. It is the whole bill.
Give someone a treatment
